I would like to extend a warm welcome to all our students, their families and the school community. Please take time to browse our school website where you will get a flavour of our students’ achievements and efforts. We are very thankful to all in our school community who support and encourage our students as they navigate their distinct and collective second level educational journey at Deele College, Raphoe.

Deele College aspires to establish and promote a positive teaching and learning environment within all our curricular and extracurricular activities. Deele College aims to protect the well-being of our students and staff by providing a safe and nurturing environment at all times.
Our Mission Statement affirms that we are:

“A caring learning community, we promote mutual respect in a safe and happy school, where the fulfilment of each individual’s potential is our goal”.

Our Peace Pledge inspires that:

"Together we are rooted in peace which nurtures others and respect differences. In a spirit of true peace we pledge to fulfill the happiness of others and build unending harmony."

Deele College operates under the trusteeship of Donegal ETB. ETB schools are state, co-educational, multi-denominational schools that underpin the core values of:

Deele College endeavours to provide all students with equal opportunities to engage with the curriculum and school life. In all aspects of school life all members of our school community are treated equitably regardless of their race, gender, religion/belief, age, family status, civil status, membership of the Traveller community, sexual orientation, ability or socio-economic status.

Our schools provide a safe physical and social environment that reinforces a sense of belonging to the school community and wider society. They attempt to empower every student to realise their full potential regardless of any aspect of their identity or background. Our schools promote a fully inclusive education that recognises the plurality of identities, beliefs and values held by students, parents and staff. We prepare open-minded, culturally sensitive and responsible citizens with a strong sense of shared values. We encourage our students and parents to become actively involved in the social, cultural, intellectual and sporting life of the school through our Student Council and Parents’ Association. We value the active engagement and cooperation of our parents. Together we will realise the students’ full potential.

Since its establishment in 1964, Deele College has provided a wide range of educational opportunities in the community. Over the years it has had to adapt to the many changes in education. We are open to adapting our methods of delivery to suit the needs of our learners. As a staff we have implemented the Junior Cycle with enthusiasm and also offer the Junior Certificate Schools Programme, Transition Year, Leaving Certificate, Leaving Certificate Applied and Leaving Cert Vocational Programme. We have included the Leaving Certificate Physical Education (LCPE) programme and Computer Science into our Leaving Certificate options.

Mutual respect is a core value that all members of the Deele College community strive for on a daily basis. In our determination to deliver this environment, the students, staff and parents work hand in hand to encourage a student centred environment where all students will have the opportunity to flourish. Top quality teaching and a positive learning setting provides a solid base for all students to receive the essential life-skills to take on any challenge placed before them as they embark on their education and life expeditions.

The growth of the whole person is a fundamental concept of our college, a strong Student Support Team, dedicated teachers and willing learners who are supported by a buoyant family network allows for “a caring learning community.” Individually, students will be stimulated to flourish, progress and be nurtured throughout their participation in curricular and extracurricular activities in Deele College. This helps fulfil their potential by setting challenging goals and achievable outcomes.

We continue to implement a building programme that will allow for four new Safe-Base classrooms and two new Metalwork rooms. We will also receive a number of new classrooms within our new, modern and expansive extension. The upgrade and development of the school offers a modern facility that is the envy of many school communities. The completed building works will offer our students a state of the art teaching and learning environment. It will allow for the college to expand its horizons through the latest teaching methodologies.

We welcome you to browse through our website. It offers you a glimpse of the daily life in Deele College. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
